Jamaica Mission - Monday, April 13, 2009

CLBC has been doing mission work in the hills of Jamaica for the past six years. We partner with the Bamboo Circuit of Baptist Churches and Pastor Crosbert Smith.

We first came to Jamaica with Jamaica Baptist Mission in 2004 and then began working independently after the first year.

The people of Jamaica are friendly and welcoming. We have made many friends here over the past few years and have seen many come to Christ.

When people think of the island they usually envision the beach resorts. But when one gets off of the coast and up in the hills it is clearly seen that the needs are great both physically and spiritually.

Our assignment this week is to work in Sturgetown and Mt Zion, with VBS during the day and evangelistic preaching services at night. We expect 150-175 children the first day at Sturgetown. The children here are on Easter break this week.

Our prayer is that the Gospel will go forth in power and that we will be an encouragement to our brothers and sisters in Christ in the churches here.

We have a team of 15 from CLBC. Pray for health, team unity, and for the love of Christ to be clearly shown through our work.
