Children's Mission Day

Today the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists held Children's Mission Day in three locations across the state: Morgantown, Chattaroy, and Beckley. Maxine Bumgarner, and her leadership team made these events possible. My family went to the Beckley location, hosted by Memorial Baptist Church, Pastor Paul Blizzard.

It was a good day. Mission Education is vitally important. Children learn quickly and they begin to form their priorities in life early. We have the opportunity to dramatically impact the generation coming behind us, for the advancement of the Gospel and the glory of God. The children had a lot of fun singing, eating, and doing crafts. But most importantly, they were able to hear from and interact with missionaries who have faithfully served God. These folks are the unrecognized heroes of the faith. They have lived for the sake of the Gospel and are good role models for our children.

I pray for my children, and for the children in our churches that they will catch the vision and be used greatly of God in the years to come.
